Through my personal projects, I explore traditions, identity and our connection to the land. Using aerial and still photography, I seek new ways of looking at the cultural expressions and stories that shape who we are.
OJO DE AGUA, DONDE LA TIERRA BAILA
Part of RAÍCES EN MOVIMIENTO, OJO DE AGUA, DONDE LA TIERRA BAILA portrays the Matachines of Ojo de Agua from above during the grape harvest celebrations in Parras, Coahuila. Their colors, feathered headdresses and shadows transform the land into a living choreography passed down through generations.
EL VUELO DE JALISCO
Part of RAÍCES EN MOVIMIENTO, EL VUELO DE JALISCO portrays folkloric dance from above: the dance becomes form, the skirt becomes a living line and the shadow another presence. Together, they extend the movement and reveal a beauty that cannot be seen in the same way from the ground.
PAN DEL MICTLÁN
Follows the ritual preparation of pan de muerto, culminating in a ceremony that connects us to Mictlán, the realm of the dead in Mexica tradition.

LUZ EN LA SOMBRA
Captures the total solar eclipse seen in Mapimí, Durango, on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 12:18 p.m. A brief moment when daylight turned into darkness.

ANIMECHERI KÚINCHEKUA
journeys through the cemeteries of Michoacán during Día de Muertos, where candlelight, flowers and memory transform the night. Through ritual, the distance between the living and the departed seems to disappear, turning remembrance into an act of presence, love and continuity.
